While developing Healin' Me I looked at music videos that really capture mood and emotion in a way that feels authentic. These three stood out the most:
Peach – Kevin Abstract
This video feels like a soft, nostalgic memory. The handheld shots and warm tones give it a raw, personal feel, like you're watching a day in someone’s real life. It’s emotional without trying too hard, which is something I really want to bring into my own project.
Morning Sex – Ralph Castelli
Minimal but powerful. It focuses on light, shadows, and close-ups to turn simple moments into something cinematic. It reminded me that atmosphere can sometimes say more than dialogue or action.
Dancing – bLAck pARty
This one just feels free. It’s colorful, playful, and relaxed but still emotional. It helped me realize I can blend joy and vulnerability in the same scene, which I’m planning to do in the skateboard sequence.
Each of these videos influenced how I’m approaching tone, color, and emotion in Healin’ Me. Short, simple, but powerful visuals. That’s the goal.
